1. Agreement Details
By signing this agreement, parents/guardians request that their child not be photographed, videotaped, or otherwise included in any media produced or distributed by the school or affiliated school group. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Photographs taken during school activities, events, or assemblies.
- Video recordings of performances, sports events, or classroom activities.
- Publication of images or videos on the school’s website, social media accounts, newsletters, or other promotional materials.
- Use of images or videos in local news outlets or other media that may cover school events.
2. Scope and Limitations
School Events and Activities:
This agreement applies to all school-organized events and activities, whether on school grounds or at off-site locations. The school will make every reasonable effort to ensure that your child is not included in any photographs or video recordings during these events.
Classroom Media:
Teachers will be notified of the Do Not Photo agreement and instructed not to include your child in any classroom photos or videos used for educational or promotional purposes.
Group Photos:
If a class or group photo is being taken, and your child cannot be excluded without disrupting the photo, the school will either arrange for a separate photo or notify you in advance to discuss possible accommodations.
Public Events:
Please note that while the school will make every effort to honor this agreement, it may not be possible to prevent other attendees at public events (e.g., sporting events, graduations, or field trips) from photographing or filming your child. This agreement does not apply to media produced by third parties not affiliated with the school.
3. Parental/Guardian Responsibilities
Communication:
Parents/guardians are responsible for communicating their preference regarding photography and media to the school by completing and submitting this form. Any changes to this preference must be communicated in writing to the school administration.
Voluntary Participation:
If your child participates in any voluntary activities, such as performances or school clubs, where media exposure is expected, the school will contact you to confirm your preferences on a case-by-case basis. Participation in these activities may require your reconsideration of this agreement, depending on the nature of the event.
4. School’s Responsibilities
Compliance:
The school will ensure that all staff members, including teachers, event organizers, and volunteers, are made aware of your child’s Do Not Photo status. Staff will follow this agreement to the best of their ability during school events and activities.
Media Requests:
The school will notify external media outlets of your child’s Do Not Photo status if an event is covered by local news or other media. However, the school cannot guarantee that your child will not be inadvertently included in background shots during large events.
Privacy and Record Keeping:
The school will maintain a record of all students with a Do Not Photo agreement and ensure that this information is updated annually. This record will be shared with relevant staff and kept confidential to protect your child’s privacy.
